Cricket Pathway
From age-group tournaments to school, college and academy cricket — how young players climb the ladder to the senior international side.
Step 1
Under-15 / Under-17
The earliest formal age-group competitions, organised by the BCB and run divisionally to identify promising junior cricketers across the country.
Step 2
Under-19
Bangladesh's U-19 National Cricket League is the main domestic feeder to the U-19 national side, which famously won the 2020 ICC U-19 World Cup.
Step 3
BKSP & National Cricket Academy
BKSP is the country's elite sports school and has produced most modern Bangladesh internationals. The BCB National Cricket Academy fine-tunes promising players for the senior side.
Step 4
Regional Hubs (2026 reform)
In 2026, the BCB launched a major pathway review with eight regional hubs and 137 new wickets installed across the country to strengthen grassroots and age-group cricket.
Step 5
College Cricket
College cricket is less formalised than in India or Sri Lanka, but Dhaka University and regional colleges run leagues that feed players into district-level cricket.
